Out of respect and deference to the beloved series, the band decided to put the concert to rest in 2018. After the recent and untimely passing of David Lynch, Xiu Xiu began to receive several high-profile requests to revive their interpretation of this iconic music. Eraserhead Xiu Xiu is a new live concert with accompanying film & full-length album that uses field recordings, concert specific homemade instruments, organ, modular synths, vocals, flashlights, electrical interference, and elements of musique concrete to express the bizarre emotionality, conflicted sexuality, relentless darkness, and singularly unsettled moonscape of this most incredible of midnight masterpieces. Eraserhead's original sound design and score by Alan Splet and Lynch guide Xiu Xiu's expanded interpretation, reflecting their influence as fans and musicians. The original film gives birth to Xiu Xiu's visual lens through which to be baffled and pummeled by the band's imaginary unused auxiliary footage. Is it a short term art installation, an exploded tribute to a cinematic triumph, epitaph to an idol, via an entirely new work? Mixed by John Congleton (Chelsea Wolfe, Swans, Lana Del Rey) this album is unlike anything the band has ever recorded previously and was motivated by the destruction of previous aesthetic notions, as well as the band's recent move from Los Angeles to Berlin.

Tracks:
1.1 Arp Omni
1.2 Maestro One Chord
1.3 Common Loon
1.4 Pale Flower
1.5 Veneficium
1.6 Sleep BLVD
1.7 T.D.F.T.W
1.8 Bobby Bland
1.9 Piña, Coconut ; Cherry
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1033/0151/3561/files/4355988-3199347_2b7c39f9-9a66-4d8d-a6c6-5c759cee3509.jpg?v=1788059956
xiu-xiu-oh-no-solid-cream-solid-scarlet-vinyl
Xiu Xiu: OH NO (Solid Cream & Solid Scarlet Vinyl) - VINYL
Title: OH NO (Solid Cream & Solid Scarlet Vinyl)
Artist: Xiu Xiu
Label: Polyvinyl Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 644110042613
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2021-03-26
Number of Discs: 2
Additional Details: COLORED VINYL, GATEFOLD LP JACKET

Solid Cream & Solid Scarlet Vinyl. Xiu Xiu makes beautiful music for hard times. For nearly 20 years, the band has a track record of crafting experimental music for moments when life's harsh realities meet it's existential mysteries. On the latest album, Jamie Stewart explores a recent revelation and is reminded of the power of the band's music to surprise and connect. Listening to the songs on OH NO, it is hard to feel truly alone. Instead, it is a reminder that even when we're alone, we're alone together. OH NO, the group's newest album, is an album of duets, with Stewart sharing the stage with an array of guests who have made an impact on him personally and musically. This is the first Xiu Xiu album where every song spotlights Jamie Stewart and a collaborator. The album features artists across the musical spectrum, including Sharon Van Etten, Circuit des Yeux's Haley Fohr, Grouper's Liz Harris, Alice Bag, Chelsea Wolfe, Owen Pallet, and Twin Shadow's George Lewis Jr., all drift into Xiu Xiu's distinctive soundworld. The album was born out of anguish and isolation, but exists as it does because of a profound rediscovery of community and friendship. It is the sound of finding one's place in the world after the destructive powers of jealousy and mistrust make any map seemingly unreadable.

Tracks:
1.1 Sad Mezcalita
1.2 I Cannot Resist
1.3 The Grifters
1.4 Goodbye for Good
1.5 Oh No
1.6 Rumpus Room
1.7 Fuzz Gong Fight
1.8 I Dream of Someone Else Entirely
1.9 One Hundred Years
1.10 A Classic Screw
1.11 It Bothers Me All
1.12 The Time
1.13 Saint Dymphna
1.14 Knock Out
1.15 A Bottle of Rum
1.16 Ants
Title: Forget
Artist: Xiu Xiu
Label: Polyvinyl Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 644110032713
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2017-02-24
Number of Discs: 1
Additional Details: COLORED VINYL, DIGITAL DOWNLOAD CARD

Limited edition colored vinyl LP pressing. While writing FORGET, Xiu Xiu released the lauded Plays the Music of Twin Peaks, collaborated with Mitski on a song for an upcoming John Cameron Mitchell film, and scored an experimental reworking of the Mozart opera, The Magic Flute. All of this frantic, external activity lead to a softly damaged dreaminess and broadened intent that has not been heard before in other Xiu Xiu works. Standout track, "Wondering" is one of the catchiest boogie pop gems in the Xiu Xiu catalog, but like much of FORGET, it still bears an underlying tension that manifests differently in each piece. Ignore Grief is a record of halves. Angela Seo sings on half of the record. Jamie Stewart sings on half of the record. Half of it is real. Half of it is imaginary. The real songs attempt to turn the worst life has offered to five people the band is connected with into some kind of desperate shape that does something, anything, other than grind and brutalize their hearts and memory within these stunningly horrendous experiences. The imaginary songs are an expansion and abstract exploration of the early rock and roll "Teen Tragedy" genre as jumping off point to decontaminate the band's own overwhelming emotions in knowing and living with what has happened to these five people.

Tracks:
1.1 The Real Chaos Cha Cha Cha
1.2 666 Photos of Nothing
1.3 Esquerita, Little Richard
1.4 Maybae Baeby
1.5 Tarsier, Tarsier, Tarsier, Tarsier
1.6 Pahrump
1.7 Border Factory
1.8 Dracula Parrot, Moon Moth
1.9 Brothel Creeper
1.10 For M.
