Trouble's early work and, in particular, "Psalm 9" represent everything that Doom Metal should be (but so often is not). Think about it, here is a band who are really rather diverse, with regard to tempo, arrangements and mood, and are not afraid to break the mould of what is typically expected of a Doom band. For 1984 this is an incredibly contemporary record; it's Doom to the bone, but also thrashy and featuring some, for the time, modern Heavy Metal touches. At it's heart there's nothing regressive or throw-backy about this record. Honestly, it makes one laugh when stuff like this is called 'traditional doom metal'; what is traditional about it? Bands like Trouble and Candlemass weren't operating in an established tradition, they were forging their own sound. Too often one hears doom bands who really take the Metal out of Doom. Doom nowadays often seems to be a byword for "play slow, minimise your Metallic leanings". Of course, "Psalm 9" answers to one's prayers as it has lead guitar and fast parts in abundance. Contrast is key to it's success and every stomping, down-trodden riff is offset by a fast break. Trouble love playing slow, but damn, they'll rip your face off, too! Recorded and produced by Rick Rubin and released on Def American as a follow up to 1990's Trouble, it seemed all was running smooth. Nevertheless Trouble was released from their contract because of not meeting Def American's expectations. For their 1994 European tour Trouble released an EP limited to 1500 copies on CD to be sold on tour. This collectors item featured five classic Trouble songs, clocking in at 20 minutes total, produced by Vincent Wojno (Konkhra, Kreator, Testament). Perhaps a case of divine intervention from the feedback gods; the doom pioneers jumped from their record label, Metal Blade to Rick Rubin's American Recordings shortly after Slayer had. While Trouble never reached the commercial heights of the thrash kings - they were, in their own way, just as important. Manic Frustration immediately pulls you into a time warp of 70's metal bliss, with it's razor-sharp guitar tones and muscular, crisp production, courtesy of Rick Rubin (System Of A Down, Johnny Cash), himself. The way the players bounce off of each other is a rare example of lightning in a bottle, and Rubin is just there to document it all, in his typically stripped back fashion. The album kicks off with the scintillating restraint of "Come Touch The Sky." It's clear from the first few seconds of Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin's opening riffs that this is all about the song writing. The 1-2-3 punch of "'Scuse Me" and "The Sleeper" follow suit and kick the album into high gear. It's only on the fourth track "Fear" where Manic Frustration casts it's true spell, expanding it's sound and revealing it's layered flourishes, as the band progressively steps up their game from each proceeding track.

Tracks:
1.1 Come Touch the Sky (2020 Remaster)
1.2 'Scuse Me (2020 Remaster)
1.3 The Sleeper (2020 Remaster)
1.4 Fear (2020 Remaster)
1.5 Rain (2020 Remaster)
1.6 Tragedy Man (2020 Remaster)
2.1 Memory's Garden (2020 Remaster)
2.2 Manic Frustration (2020 Remaster)
2.3 Hello Strawberry Skies (2020 Remaster)
2.4 Mr. White (2020 Remaster)
2.5 Breathe... Coming in after the legendary Eric Wagner left (again) Clarke exhibits none of the mournful wail that Wagner had and instead is like a rocket fueled injection into the Trouble vocalist spot.Wartell, Franklin and Olsen are there to hold down the fort as the band makes it's way through a set of material from the Simple Mind Condition release with sprinkles of their not too distant past thrown in for good measure. Instead of recording an all new studio album with Clarke and letting him cherry pick from the catalog the songs that work best for him (ala Van Halen w/Hagar or Dio w/Heaven and Hell) the band hit the road with Clarke manning the boards. His raspy whiskey soaked vocals lend themselves to songs such as The Eye and The Sleeper but run afoul as he never could quite get the classic Tempter down right as to why it's not featured here.No doubt Clarke's antiestablishment rhetoric fits the band lending some of these songs a more poignant bent as he screams 'middle east Vietnam' during Plastic Green Head, but it's also nice when the band pops into the instrumental Endtime giving Clarke a moment to rest. Live in Los Angles is a document to a band in flux as Clarke would exit and Exhorder front man Kyle Thomas would enter next.

Tracks:
1.1 Intro
1.2 R.I.P.
1.3 The Sleeper
1.4 Touch the Sky
1.5 Plastic Green Head
1.6 The Eye
1.7 Simple Mind Condition
1.8 Mr. White
1.9 End Time
1.10 Trouble Maker
1.11 End of My Daze
Title: Simple Mind Condition
Artist: Trouble
Label: FDDL
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 4250444155231
Genre: Heavy Metal, Heavy Metal
Release Date: 2022-10-21
Number of Discs: 1

U.S Doom/ Stoner legends Trouble released Simple Mind Condition in 2007. Produced by Vinny Wojno (Kreator/ Machine Head) Trouble have, since the early 80s, epitomized the grinding doom metal of Black Sabbath and along the way influenced many in the genre such as Kyuss and Candlemass. Their work would serve as inspiration for an entire generation of 90s bands.Trouble with original members; singer Eric Wagner, guitarists Rick Wartell & Bruce Franklin, drummer Jeff Olson and new bassist Chuck Robinsson released an album that could well be described as their best recording to date. The music sounds fairly dissimilar to the completely doom-laden, crushing riffs present on the earlier material, but what Trouble do here sounds every bit authentic. Not to mislead you, this definitely still sounds like Trouble, but they seem to have adopted a more laidback, stoner metal approach; sacrificing sinister atmospheres for more upbeat ones. Finally availble on vinyl for the first time! Remastered and cut in DMM! Trouble were invited by Leif Edling and Candlemass as special guests. The vinyl release (on CD it is available as a bonus disc that we added to the remastered deluxe CD edition of "Simple Mind Condition" covers all 14 tracks the legendary Doom Metal pioneers played that evening, and by hearing Trouble in action you can hear where the band leader of Candlemass, Leif Edling, was inspired. The whole gig is 75 minutes, and the guys serve us the best (let's call it a "Greatest Hits" set) from their long career on a fantastic 2-LP. Everything is played with an incredible passion and love for the music, and it's really fun to hear the old Doom Metal icons on stage. Eric Wagner didn't move too so much, he mostly hung over his mic with shades and a cigarette, but that turned out great, because of his amazing voice that was still intact. Digitally remastered edition. After Manic Frustration was released in 1992 the sky seemed the limit for Trouble. Recorded and produced by Rick Rubin and released on Def American as a follow up to 1990's Trouble it seemed all was running smooth. Nevertheless Trouble was released from their contract because of not meeting Def American's expectations. For their 1994 European tour Trouble released an EP limited to 1500 copies on CD to be sold on tour. This collectors item featuring five classic Trouble songs, clocking in at 20 minutes, produced by Vincent Wojno (Konkhra, Kreator, Testament). The music on this EP is classic Trouble that continues on the path followed on their previous two full-length albums. A much needed addition to any Trouble fan collection. The 2CD version will come with the full Unplugged sessions. Here we have Trouble returning with Simple Mind Condition, after a long hiatus (twelve years had passed since the release of Plastic Green Head), taking once more to the skies of metal. Some complaints and criticism followed upon it's release which are not really fair. This album features songs that are well-written and have a lot of sludgy stoner hooks, and are drenched in Eric Wagner's (R.I.P.) woe-is-me penmanship. Overall, a very good album, a convincing album worth your listening time. Those expecting the past could be a little bit disappointed, but those who will give the time to this album will find a hidden treasure in it. We decided to add a true gem to the re-issue, being the full set from their reunion show in November 2003, recorded live in Stockholm, Sweden. Trouble's early work and, in particular, Psalm 9 represent everything that Doom Metal should be (but so often is not). At it's heart there's nothing regressive or throw-backy about this record. l.

Tracks:
1.1 The Tempter
1.2 Assassin
1.3 Victim of the Insane
1.4 Revelation (Life or Death)
1.5 Bastards Will Pay
1.6 The Fall of Lucifer
1.7 Endtime
1.8 Psalm 9
1.9 Tales of Brave Ulysses
Title: Trouble 4
Artist: Trouble
Label: Universal Japan
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 4988031406380
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2020-12-18
Number of Discs: 1
Additional Details: JAPAN - IMPORT, REISSUE

Trouble HR/HM 1000 Vol. 2, Japan, Reissue, Limited edition Trouble Release date: December 9th, 2020 Japanese reissue.
