When Dirty was released in 1992, it was seen by many as the band's big move toward the grunge market. Heard today, Dirty doesn't sound like a masterpiece (like Daydream Nation) or a gesture toward the mainstream audience (like Goo) - it just sounds like a damn good rock album, and on those terms it ranks with Sonic Youth's best work. The band recorded and produced the album with Butch Vig in early 1992 at The Magic Shop studios. The album spawned four singles. The first single was "100%". The next was "Youth Against Fascism". The last two were "Sugar Kane" and "Drunken Butterfly", released in 1993. The album sold exceptionally well, reaching #6 in the UK Albums Chart (their highest charting album in the UK) and #83 in the US.

Tracks:
1.1 100%
1.2 Swimsuit Issue
1.3 Theresa's Sound-World
1.4 Drunken Butterfly
2.1 Shoot
2.2 Wish Fulfillment
2.3 Sugar Kane
2.4 Orange Rolls, Angel's Spit
3.1 Youth Against Fascism
3.2 Nic Fit
3.3 On the Strip
3.4 Chapel Hill
4.1 Stalker
4.2 JC
4.3 Purr
4.4 Creme Brulee
Title: Confusion Is Sex
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 787996802213
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2016-09-23
Number of Discs: 1

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered reissue. Originally slated to be a seven-inch single to follow up their self-titled debut, Sonic Youth 's Confusion Is Sex blossomed into the band's first album: a brain-bludgeoning, completely fried endeavor of dissonance and disarray, a perfect soundtrack for running from a chain-wielding gang near the SIN Club. This was the sound of 1983 New York City: nothing like London where punks were starting to scrub their faces and sounds to get on Top of the Pops, and nothing like the jangly roots of college radio rock starting to formulate in Athens, Georgia. It sounded like no one else on Earth, for that matter. The raw, Wharton Tiers 8-track production is dark, the Kim Gordon-scrawled cover figure art of Thurston Moore is dark, Lee Ranaldo 's back cover photo-collage and Catherine Ceresole 's crumpled-xeroxed images that adorned the inside are dark. It's an album that moves Sonic Youth forward from their first EP almost by devolving backwards into true ugly, lo-fi primitivity. The bare-boned arsenal of junkpile guitars and implementation of alternate tunings was growing, and so were the songs that matched the individual attributes of each instrument: certain ones groan and growl a specific way that the band started to realize itself could become the compositional germ of a song. Herein is the threshold of a new explosion of the band's creativity, replacing the comparatively cleaner buzz of the Sonic Youth EP with guitars that spew fractured, uglier chunks of sound everywhere, held down by menacing minimalist basslines and the brutal-yet-controlled metronomic drumming. While it's confrontationalism might have put off some critics, time has rewarded Confusion with a truly distinctive air and atmosphere in the Sonic discography, enough to have Moore declare it his fave along with the band's swan-song The Eternal.

Tracks:
1.1 (She's in a) Bad Mood
1.2 Protect Me You
1.3 Freezer Burn/I Wanna Be Your Dog
1.4 Shaking Hell
1.5 Inhuman
1.6 The World Looks Red
1.7 Confusion Is Next
1.8 Making the Nature Scene
1.9 Lee Is Free
Title: Daydream Nation
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 787996801711
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2014-06-24
Number of Discs: 2

Double vinyl LP repressing. Reissue of the Alt-Rock pioneers' 1987 album. DAYDREAM was Sonic Youth's sixth full-length, their first double-LP, and their last for an indie label before signing with Geffen. Widely considered to be their watershed moment, the album catapulted them into the mainstream and proved that indie bands could enjoy wide commercial success without compromising their artistic vision. More recently, Daydream Nation has been recognized as a classic of it's time. It was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry in 2006.

Tracks:
1.1 Teen Age Riot
1.2 Silver Rocket
1.3 The Sprawl
1.4 Cross the Breeze
1.5 Eric S Trip
1.6 Total Trash
1.7 Hey Joni
1.8 Providence
1.9 Candle
1.10 Rain King
1.11 Kissability
1.12 Trilogy (The Wonder / Hyperstation / Eliminator Jr.)
Title: Evol
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 787996801919
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2015-07-24
Number of Discs: 1

Vinyl LP pressing. The third studio album by Sonic Youth, originally released in May 1986 on SST Records, shows the first signs that the band was ready to transform their no wave past into a greater alternative Rock sensibility. "Evol... marks the true departure point of Sonic Youth's musical evolution," says Pitchfork, who place the album in the #31 slot of their Top 100 Albums of The 1980s. "In measured increments, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo... bring form to the formless, tune to the tuneless, and with the help of Steve Shelley's drums..., [impose] melody and composition on their trademark dissonance.”

Tracks:
1.1 Tom Violence
1.2 Shadow of a Doubt
1.3 Starpower
1.4 In the Kingdom #19
1.5 Green Light
1.6 Death to Our Friends
1.7 Secret Girl
1.8 Marilyn Moore
1.9 Expressway to Yr. Washing Machine is the ninth studio album by the American experimental rock band Sonic Youth, released on September 26, 1995 by DGC Records. It was recorded at Easley Studios in Memphis, Tennessee and produced by the band and John Siket, who also engineered the band's previous two albums. The album features more open-ended pieces than it's predecessors and contains some of the band's longest songs, including the 20-minute ballad "The Diamond Sea", which is the lengthiest track to feature on any of Sonic Youth's studio albums. Washing Machine erased any notion that the band had run out of things to say. Easily their most adventurous, challenging, and best record since Daydream Nation, the album finds Sonic Youth returning to the fearless exploration of their SST records, but the group has found a way to work that into tighter song structures. It's not a commercial record, nor is it a pop record, but Washing Machine encompasses everything that made Sonic Youth innovators.

Tracks:
1.1 Becuz
1.2 Junkie's Promise
1.3 Saucer-Like
2.1 Washing Machine
2.2 Unwind
2.3 Little Trouble Girl
3.1 No Queen Blues
3.2 Panty Lies
3.3 Becuz Coda
3.4 Skip Tracer
4.1 The Diamond Sea
Title: Evol
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 787996801926
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2015-07-24
Number of Discs: 1

Reissue of this album by the Alt-Rock icons. Goo is the sixth studio album by Sonic Youth. It was released on June 26, 1990 by record label DGC. The album was Sonic Youth's debut release on a major record label, after the band signed to Geffen Records following the release of Daydream Nation (1988). Goo was recorded over a short period in early 1990 at Sorcerer Sound Recording Studios and Greene St. Recording with Daydream Nation producer Nick Sansano and additional producer Ron Saint Germain. The album's sound diverged considerably from their earlier material and is often considered "their most accessible album", with elements of experimental rock, garage punk, alternative rock and hard rock. Lead single "Kool Thing" charted in the United States, United Kingdom and Ireland. Two other singles-"Disappearer" and "Dirty Boots"-were also released from the album.

Tracks:
1.1 Dirty Boots
1.2 Tunic (Song for Karen)
1.3 Mary-Christ
1.4 Kool Thing
1.5 Mote
2.1 My Friend Goo
2.2 Disappearer
2.3 Mildred Pierce
2.4 Cinderella's Big Score
2.5 Scooter and Jinx
2.6 Titanium Expose
Title: Daydream Nation
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 787996801728
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2014-06-10
Number of Discs: 1

Reissue of the Alt-Rock pioneers' 1987 album. DAYDREAM NATION was Sonic Youth's sixth full-length, their first double-LP, and their last for an indie label before signing with Geffen.

1.3 Sprawl
1.4 'Cross the Breeze
1.5 Eric's Trip
1.6 Total Trash
1.7 Hey Joni
1.8 Providence
1.9 Candle
1.10 Rain King
1.11 Kissability
1.12 Triology: A) the Wonder
1.13 Triology: B) Hyperstation
1.14 Triology: Z) Eliminator JR
Title: Sister
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 787996802015
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2016-04-08
Number of Discs: 1

Vinyl LP pressing including digital download. Reissue. One of Sonic Youth's most beloved albums, 1987's Sister incorporated the dissonance of their earlier releases into more traditional song structures. It's an innovative and thrilling work assuredly delivered by a band at the peak of their powers. Sonic Youth formed in 1981 in New York. Founding members Thurston Moore (guitar, vocals), Kim Gordon (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Lee Ranaldo (guitar, vocals) remained together for the entire history of the band, while Steve Shelley (drums) followed a series of short-term drummers in 1985, and rounded out the core line-up. In their early career Sonic Youth were associated with the no wave art and music scene in New York City. Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound.

Tracks:
1.1 Schizophrenia
1.2 Catholic Block
1.3 Beauty Lies in the Eye
1.4 Stereo Sanctity
1.5 Pipeline / Kill Time
1.6 Tuff Gnarl
1.7 Pacific Coast Highway
1.8 Hot Wire My Heart
1.9 Cotton Crown
1.10 White Cross
1.11 Master-Dik (Download-Only)
Title: Bad Moon Rising
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 787996801810
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2015-04-14
Number of Discs: 1

Vinyl LP repressing including digital download that features the album plus four bonus tracks. Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star is the eighth studio album by the American experimental rock band Sonic Youth, originally released in 1994 by DGC Records. It was produced by Butch Vig and recorded at Sear Sound studio in New York City, the same studio where the band's 1987 album Sister was recorded. Unlike it's predecessor Dirty, Experimental Jet Set features a more low-key approach and references the band's earlier work on the independent record label SST Records. The album contains quieter and more relaxed songs that deal with personal and political topics. Sonic Youth formed in 1981. Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than it's specific sound.

Tracks:
1.1 Winner's Blues
1.2 Bull in the Heather
1.3 Starfield Road
1.4 Skink
1.5 Screaming Skull
1.6 Self-Obsessed and Sexxee
1.7 Bone
1.8 Androgynous Mind
1.9 Quest for the Cup
1.10 Waist
1.11 Doctor's Orders
1.12 Tokyo Eye
1.13 In the Mind of the Bourgeois Reader
1.14 Sweet Shine
Title: A Thousand Leaves
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Geffen Records
Product Type: VINYL LP
UPC: 602547431042
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2016-10-07
Number of Discs: 2

Limited vinyl LP pressing. A Thousand Leaves was Sonic Youth's 10th studio album and the group's first major effort to be recorded at their own Echo Canyon studio in NYC. Free from the constraints of paying for costly studio time, the band was able to work at their desired pace and experiment at will. The result was an album born out of improvisation, chiefly characterized by the guitar interplay between guitarists Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. The album title was inspired by Walt Whitman as Moore explained, "The same way he improvises with images and words, we improvise with sounds and notes." Sonic Youth formed in 1981. In the UK, EVOL was the third studio album by Sonic Youth and showed the first signs of the band transforming their No Wave past into a greater alt-rock sensibility. "EVOL... mark[s] the true departure point of Sonic Youth's musical evolution," noted Pitchfork, "In measured increments, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo... bring form to the formless, tune to the tuneless, and with the help of Steve Shelley's drums... , [impose] melody and composition on their trademark dissonance." "If Daydream Nation is Sonic Youth's opus, EVOL was crucial research. There's a directness that makes everything feel close. It is pure tension with little release. The entire record is a shadow." Stereogum likewise praised the album as one, "full of suspense... , the cornerstone [of] the Sonic Youth sound... , ground zero for the combination of chiming guitars and atonal skronk... muggy delirium... The virile 'Tom Violence' sounds less written than coaxed from a cauldron, the sort of song that fogs windows. The off-kilter 'Starpower'... is sung in a frosty [Nico-evoking] monotone [by Kim Gordon]. 'In The Kingdom #19,' featuring Mike Watt on bass and... vocals [by Ranaldo]... , is a harrowing story of a highway wreck over a suitably edgy instrumental backing punctuated by... live firecrackers in the vocal booth." For Popstache, "EVOL slithers into the unconscious. It's now issued for the first time officially under the band's auspices."The '85 shows were the second time the band appeared on UK soil, Brits now getting juiced to the mythos of the emerging guitar-slinging American independent underground; an art / punk band from NYC sporting casual attitudes and tees sporting Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and Prince made some good press copy on top of their bludgeoning stage appearance. Paul Smith of the newly-founded Blast First label acted as an overseas diplomatic envoy for Sonic Youth through their SST years as well as issuing their classic 1988 Daydream Nation outside the USA. However the Smith-produced 'bootleg' of their '85 UK gigs surfaced much to everyone's surprise, just before EVOL was to be released. It turned out to be a marker of the group's dissatisfaction that ultimately led to the release's deletion, and the band and Smith parting ways after Daydream."In this 2LP set brimming with primitive classics like 'The Burning Spear,' 'Death Valley 69,' and 'I'm Insane' (uncredited on sleeve), segues and live guitar changes ooze together threaded by Madonna tapes and vocal loops off the board (somewhat a necessity for distraction until the band had a full fledged stage crew to prepare guitars). The first two sides of Walls are massive, cavernous, with newly-drafted drummer Steve Shelley. SY tear it up especially on one trash-fi excerpt of 'Blood On Brighton Beach' (actually 'Making The Nature Scene') from a legendary outdoor gig November 8th where [Thurston] Moore, [Kim] Gordon and [Lee] Ranaldo's guitars treble-blast dissonant shockwaves over the black-stoned beach of Quadrophenia fame."The record's second slab spotlights an April 1985 at London's Hammersmith Palais and was one of the final appearances live of Bob Bert on drums, again featuring some molten takes on 'Brother James,' 'Flower' (listed as 'The Word (E.V.O.L.)'), and others. The concert was introduced by Big Black's Steve Albini (who at the time was banned from the venue) and subsequently released as a semi-official bootleg under the title Hold That Tiger on writer/provocateur Byron Coley's impishly Geffen-baiting label Goofin' (years later the band would use this nom de guerre for their own imprint).Hold That Tiger's sterling reputation among the Sonic Youth faithful is well deserved. In fact, it isn't a stretch to suggest that the album is to the first handful of SY releases what It's Alive is to the first three Ramones LPs-a feral and liberatory public snapshot of a band's blossoming imperial phase. Indeed, HTT is the sound of a group at the peak of their powers, presenting new songs alongside a handful of older ones with the kind of wild, cathartic enthusiasm common to rock 'n' roll's most revered live albums.Taking nothing away from Sister-inarguably one of indie rock's first true masterpieces-it is reasonable that many fans prefer the live versions heard on Hold That Tiger to their studio counterparts. On HTT, Sonic Youth is a spiky, pummeling and confident force, alternately mammoth and meditative. Sister and it's predecessor EVOL notably added an airy, dreamlike reverie to the band's turbulent doom-lurch, a stylistic evolution that seems to crystallize on HTT. Throughout, Kim Gordon's sinewy, sumptuous bass and Steve Shelley's propulsive, tom-heavy percussion provide the bedrock groove for Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo's ferocious barrages of noise-guitar crunch.By 1987, the band was confidently articulating their dual lexicon of punk-noir dissonance and supernal, psychedelic sonic calligraphy-bending their jagged, streetwise gnarl into balloon animals of dazzling and beautiful songs. This collision of splendor and chaos would become a hallmark of the group's singular alchemy as well as provide a blueprint for the post-SST American underground they would help invent and ultimately nurture.Hold That Tiger's encore-four songs by the band's beloved Ramones, which Thurston would later astutely compare to "the perfect pudding after a hearty meal"-serves as a reminder that, like any true punks, Sonic Youth never could resist a good, rousing anthem to send the kids home with their ears ringing, their hearts hot-wired.This first-time reissue comes with gatefold jacket. It is the band's first album after the departure of multi-instrumentalist Jim O'Rourke, who joined the group as a fifth member in 1999. Unlike it's immediate predecessors, the album was produced by John Agnello and recorded at Sear Sound in New York City, the same studio where the band's 1994 album Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star was recorded. It also completed Sonic Youth's contract with Geffen, which released the band's previous eight records. - Rather Ripped is generally considered one of the band's most accessible albums, featuring an abundance of concise and catchy songs that deal with melancholic topics about adultery, sexual frustration and infidelity. Upon release, the album peaked at No. 71 on the US Billboard 200 chart and No. 64 on the UK Albums Chart.

Tracks:
1.1 Reena
1.2 Incinerate
1.3 Do You Believe in Rapture?
1.4 Sleepin' Around
1.5 What a Waste
1.6 Jams Runs Free
2.1 Rats
2.2 Turquoise Boy
2.3 Lights Out
2.4 The Neutral
2.5 Pink Steam
2.6 or
Title: Sister
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 787996802022
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2016-04-08
Number of Discs: 1

1.11 Master-Dik (Download-Only)
Title: Confusion Is Sex
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 787996802220
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2016-09-23
Number of Discs: 1

Title: Sister
Artist: Sonic Youth
Label: Goofin Records
Product Type: CASSETTES
UPC: 787996802046
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2022-04-01
Number of Discs: 1

1987's Sister was another notch in the band's move away from No Wave, yet still maintained their experimental approach. Gordon, Moore, Ranaldo and Shelley were coming into their own at this point, combining elements of noise, punk and pop. They had also become better songwriters since their previous album, providing better context for their noisier elements and incorporating the dissonance of their earlier releases into more traditional song structures.
