This 10-track set will be the first release off the new imprint Dub Rockers from reggae giant VP Records. The internationally acclaimed band stays true to the essence of their dynamic sound - capturing the true spirit of roots reggae while blending elements of jazz, funk, salsa and transcendental dub. The album's hypnotic funk based rhythms move from earthy percussion-based tracks to complex impressionistic dub compositions. This sophisticated selection of genre-bending sounds provides the perfect template for some of their most fiery militant and conscious lyrics to date. More than two decades into a storied career, Groundation returns this year with their 10th studio album, One Rock. The band, formed in 1998 by vocalist/guitarist Harrison Stafford, has helped define American roots reggae, while building a large and loyal following in Europe and Brazil, where they have been a consistent major headliner and festival attraction for years. With the idea of celebrating the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking album's release, the leader of the band asked Brain Damage to remix and rework these nine tracks from top to bottom. Nathan brings plenty of surprises, re-composing, re-arranging, adding harmony changes, integrating recording scraps from the original sessions, adding new parts. Groundation's unique style that combines reggae with jazz, so at their earliest peak when they made this album, transforms into something more psychedelic, more introspective with this version. It's an exciting new way to hear it for longtime fans and a new door opened for those who haven't experienced the power of HEBRON'S GATE.

Tracks:

Title: Each One Teach One
Artist: Groundation
Label: HTS Roots Creations
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 616892562948
Genre: Reggae
Release Date: 2018-03-16
Number of Discs: 1
Additional Details: DELUXE EDITION

(2-CD set) Reissue of Groundation's second album of original music recorded in 2000 which includes a second disc of the full album dub versions from engineer King Robby. One band focused on the explosive evolution of this musical ecosystem is Groundation. Rooted in the reggae one-drop sound of Jamaica, Groundation seamlessly incorporates the harmonic, polyrhythmic, and improvisational elements of jazz, breathing new life into both genres. Groundation's 8th full-length studio album, to be released in October 2014, evokes the lasting and eternal influence of Bob Marley, "A Miracle" will feature Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt, founding members of Marley's legendary backing vocal trio the I-Threes. The picture is completed by the pen of Neville Garrick, Marley's art director from the time of the "Rastaman Vibration" album (1976). "A Miracle" takes the listener on a journey through the creation of life, the power of the Empress, and the balance of men and women.

Tracks:
1.1 Riddim Hold Dem
1.2 Defender of Beauty
1.3 Free Rider
1.4 Gone a Cemetery
1.5 Liberation Call
1.6 Miracle
1.7 Hold Your Head Up
1.8 Jah Defend the Music
1.9 Born Again
1.10 Cupid's Arrow
Title: The Gathering Of The Elders [2002-2009]
Artist: Groundation
Label: Groundation
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 751937400929
Genre: Reggae
Release Date: 2011-07-19
Number of Discs: 1

No group from the modern era have had a deeper connection to the roots of reggae than Groundation. Taking the sound back to it's foundation the group has been rebuilt by lead vocalist Harrison Stafford and features a dynamic set of musicians from both Jamaica and California. "The Next Generation" takes off like a rocket opening with the first ever reggae big band song "Vanity" (12 horns). Lyrically and conceptually the album stems from their previous release "A Miracle" here shifting from the Mother of Creation to the child, "The Next Generation." The album takes you on a journey from the militant "Fossil Fuels" and "Prophets & Profit" to the subtle and heartfelt "New Life" and "Father & Child" and everywhere in between. The sound quality is impeccable, engineered by the great Jim Fox and recorded all on analog equipment from the 1970s. This album will stand as a testament that Groundation has reclaimed their position as leaders in the search for new original music and that true to form improvisational Reggae/Jazz experience. A unique sound fans have enjoyed for two decades on the biggest stages all over the world.

Tracks:
